Introduction
A little about myself and what I hope to accomplish with this blog, my YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBb0hYhwX7CFpm8B706Pt6Q), Twitter account (@SinisterTandM), and website (blog.sinisterthoughtsandmusings.com).
I am 38 year old cis lesbian who is engaged to a 33 year old trans woman. We have been together for over a year and a half. We live together and our many animals (one dog, two cats, two turtles, one bunny, and one leopard gecko). We are very nerdy, love comics, video games (we have most systems released between the two of us), going to cons, and just in general nerdy stuff.
In regards to our relationship, we have a great dynamic. We try to work out our disagreements while they are still small and before they become a fight. We try to have quality time together when quantity is limited. We are both sarcastic smart asses so we drive each other nuts sometimes.
I like to draw, paint, and write so I will be posting some of my creations. My partner likes to do perler creations so those will be showed as well. Also, I am absolutely willing to display others creations as well, just send them to me.
What inspired me to start this current journey is what I feel is a lack of an understanding community within the greater LGBT community and the world in general. I came out when I was in my late teens to my family and was then outed by a co-worker at work. This was a very difficult time in my life, everyone was talking about me and I was still figuring out myself.
Nobody really talked about their experiences and how they dealt with them. I realized that this was still the case when I started dating a trans woman. There are at least some support groups for her but none for me as her partner. I was encountering new terms and situations that I had no idea how to understand and be supportive to as her partner.
So I figured if I can't find the support and community that I needed then I would create it myself. I am going to share my experiences, my history, my journey in life with you and I hope you will do the same with me and others.
Together we can make at least our part of the world a little bit more understanding and loving so please join me on this path to community building.
